The reason it is so hard to “deliver'' religious people is that they are so confident and arrogant that they already “know” God when in fact they know religion and facts and dates. They have focused on memorization of information but not focused on developing a ‘personal’ relationship with God. Knowing God will give you the revelation in your heart of God’s knowledge and wisdom. You will understand the heart of God. What really pleases Him, what disappoints and angers Him.
It is so arrogant to think that God is not speaking to his children in the present day but He only spoke in the past and through the Word. Yes God speaks to us in the Word but he also is still trying to speak to each of us as individuals today. But we are too busy. We are too busy talking, watching, listening to music, working- we are occupied all day and leave no quiet time to hear his voice and to develop a close communication with him.
God is not a magic gene that we go to for wishes and our hearts desires, for death and sickness only. God should be in our everyday life. We should be thanking him in our thoughts and whispers all throughout the day. If you are a Christian but have a separate secular- worldly life- adjust that. If you are a Christian but you leave God out of your business life, marriage life, dating life, school life- adjust that. God wants to help you with your career, He wants to be a part of your organization and give you the best ideas that will uplift the Kingdom of God and in turn your business. God wants to help you to choose the person when you date. If you are making choices, based on flesh, lust, and in places of debauchery- how can He help you when you are not honoring yourself first?
Some of us are coasting, living lavishly and are doing well in life so you don’t see a need for God or for switching up how God fits into your life or the percentage of influence God has in your life. You don’t understand that it is by God’s grace that you are where you are, not by your power- that is a worldly illusion and lie, arrogance.
Some of us are in pain, suffering, not performing as we would like, lonely, stuck in dependence and addictions. We - need God now. Now is that time for you to realize that God is the only ‘fix’ for your problem. Do you know that God will point out to you the people who can help you? Do you know that God can download a solution to your problem in your mind? Do you know that God can put the words in your mouth to defend yourself in crisis? Do you know if you cry out honestly right now to God, He will begin to change your heart so you can lose interest in the things that are destroying you? Do you know that God can open your eyes so you can see the true intentions of the people around you? Supernatural help is not a thing of the past! There are miracles happening today.
The Bible isn’t just for when you get old and fail in life. The Bible is a tool to help you conquer life, to help you reveal the best version of yourself. But first you have to admit that you are not okay as you are. Remember God’s thoughts are higher than our thoughts. What we think is great, or good enough- God can do it better.
Isaiah 55:8-9
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
